Meet Anna Strickland, the founder and chief cultivator behind Harper and Mary Strategies. Anna’s personal leadership motto has always been to “bloom where you are planted”, evidenced by her background in horticulture and professional development. In 2025, after a storied career that included positions with Georgia Agribusiness Council, the University of Georgia’s Archway Partnership, and being the president and CEO of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce, Anna stepped into her own role to combine her love of people and plants under one umbrella. Harper and Mary Strategies was born of Anna’s desire to help others grow their own gardens, and bloom where they’re planted in both home and work environments.
Her consulting firm grows people by offering leadership and talent development services. Each workshop, retreat, and custom coaching program is rooted in the scientifically proven Emergenetics personality assessment, which is aimed at improving communication and collaboration among teams.

When it comes to growing plants, Harper and Mary Strategies utilizes Anna’s horticultural expertise to design HOA-approved, pollinator-friendly landscaping that prioritizes native plants and perennials. Anna provides both readymade and personalized plans for a wide range of budgets, lifestyles, and Southern climates. She holds a Certificate for Sustainable Landscape Design as well as a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree in horticulture, and loves showcasing what benefits and beauty native plants can bring to your lawn. Anna aims for Harper and Mary’s approach to help bring the usage of these flora into more mainstream appreciation.
Harper and Mary Strategies is named for Anna’s two daughters, Harper Ann and Mary Elizabeth. Taking after their mom, Harper and Mary are burgeoning naturalists and plant lovers. They enjoy being outside, helping tend the home flower gardens, and supporting all of Anna’s entrepreneurial endeavors! Local clients are likely to see all three of them attending networking events for chambers of commerce and taking cameo moments during public speaking engagements.
